School Visits

*March 2022 - status update*

We are currently fully booked for guided school visits for the foreseeable future and are not accepting any further bookings at this stage.

We will update this page once we are accepting guided school visits once more.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. You are welcome to come on a self-guided tour, but please inform the visitor centre staff so that we know if and when a large group may be on site to help us manage visitor numbers.

Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve provides a special and unique location for education, offering outdoor activities within the heart of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Our 'Discovery Den' classroom is the ideal place to hold your education sessions. Learn more.

Curriculum-linked sessions

Our education and engagement team can guide your school group through curriculum-linked sessions for KS1-2 designed to inspire learning and engage all learners with the natural world. From river studies to pond dipping, our activities provide a varied and hands-on approach to learning.

Our topics include:

  • Habitats
  • Coasts
  • Rivers
  • Prehistory
  • Pond dipping
  • Minibeasts (April - September)

Arranging your visit

If you have a question or would like to book a session with us, please contact the Visitor Centre by emailing us or calling 01202 128444.
