Thursday 7th December, 10.30am

Learning Poems By Heart

Can you remember the poems you learned at school? If not, do you wish you could? Learning poems by heart is good for 'the little grey cells', and is very enjoyable. Come along to this informal event in our upstairs gallery. Booking essential on 01202 128444  -  £6.50 per person including a hot drink and a mince pie.

God's Eyes Making

Make a God's Eye to hang from your Christmas tree. All materials and tuition provided. Three session-times available, with limited spaces. Booking essential on 01202 128444  -  £8 per person.

 

Tuesday 12th December, 10.30am and 1.30pm

Christmas Card Making

Make your own festive card to give to a loved one this Christmas. All materials and tuition provided. Sessions available at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Spaces limited so booking essential on 01202 128444. £10 per person.

 

Thursday 14th December, 7pm

Geminid Meteor Shower

This is one of the best meteor (shooting star) showers of the year, and we hope to see at least five or ten meteors during the event. Find out what a meteor is, and why we get meteor showers, as well as looking for planets and constellations. Booking essential on 01202 128444  -  £10 per person including a hot drink and a snack. Wrap up well.

 

Saturday 16th December, 10.30am, 12pm and 2pm

Rag Wreath Making

As a lovely alternative to a green wreath, come along and make a rag wreath, using colourful Christmas materials. All tuition and materials provided. Three sessions available with limited spaces  -  booking essential on 01202 128444. £12 per person.

 

Saturday 16th December, from 3pm

Christmas Songs and Carols

Come along for a mulled drink and a mince pie in our courtyard, enjoy some Christmas songs, and join in with some Christmas carols. No need to book  -  just turn up any time between 3pm and 4pm.

 

Sunday 17th December, 2pm to 4pm

Christmas Ukuleles

A fun-filled afternoon of Christmas songs, performed live by ukulele players. The event is taking place in the visitor centre courtyard, and there will be mulled drinks and mince pies available. No need to book  -  just turn up any time between 2pm and 4pm to get into the festive spirit.

 

 

Monday 18th December, 10.30am, 12pm and 2pm

Friendship Bracelets

Make a friendship bracelet to keep for yourself or to give as gift to a friend or family member. All materials and tuition provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There are three sessions, with limited spaces, so booking essential by phoning 01202 128444  -  £5 per person.

 

Tuesday 19th December, 10.30am

Christmas Literature

We will listen to Christmas poems, and short readings from Christmas books and stories. Bring along your favourite illustrated/non-illustrated Christmas books to show during the session, including childrens' books. Booking essential  -  £6.50 per person including a hot drink and a mince pie.

 

 

Winter Wildlife

Thursday 11th January, 2024  -  10am to 12.30pm 

A winter wildlife walk looking for birds, berries and more. £5 per person. Booking essential on 01202 128444.

 

Performing The Past

Take a look at our full 'Performing the Past' events programme, where you can take part in events, guided walks and activities showing Hengistbury Head as a scene of settlement and ceremony for more than twelve thousand years.

Monday Morning Meanders  -  October '23 to January '24

All walks will start at 10am and last up to 2 hours. These events are free with no need to book. Please note that these are not Council-led walks.
