Inside the Iron Age Roundhouse

Picture a vibrant community thriving on this ancient site, where life was rich with activity and trade. Hengistbury Head, once Britain's largest international trading port, buzzed with the energy of ships arriving from the Mediterranean and distant corners of Europe, each vessel laden with goods waiting to be exchanged in the picturesque Christchurch Harbour.

Tours will be led by our passionate Heritage Volunteers, who may be in authentic Iron Age clothing. Together, we will uncover the remarkable history and daily lives of those who called this place home, immersing ourselves in the echoes of a time long gone but not forgotten.

This tour offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with the materials, crafts, and surroundings of daily life in the Iron Age, bringing the past to life through Living History.
