"Come ye and sit awhile as your ancestors did in olden times at the craft of making yarn for fabric that will be wounden through warp and woof to be worn as clað to keep the weder out"
Come and step back in time and learn the ancient craft of carding and spinning fleece from the sheep at Hengistbury Head inside an Iron Age roundhouse. Join the spinning circle, where yarn is spun and yarns and stories are shared, as people have done over many centuries, in preparation for weaving the vital fabrics worn and used in everyday life.
This event is free but has a suggested donation of £3 to support the Visitor Centre. It is an opportunity to see our Iron Age roundhouse, meet new people and have a go at spinning yarn we use for our historic weaving projects.
Great for your mental health and wellness, and to connect back to nature. From 29th March and every other Saturday - 10am-12pm
