Host your event at Hengistbury Head

Tranquil. Spacious. Inspiring.

Looking for a unique venue surrounded by nature, history, and coastal beauty? Hengistbury Head is the perfect setting for events themed around wildlife, the arts, archaeology, outdoor learning and more.

As a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Scheduled Ancient Monument, we take care to protect this special place, which means not all events are suitable.

But if your plans align with the spirit of the Head, we’d love to hear from you. Our team can offer advice and support to help make your event a success.

The Discovery Den

Outdoor learning, whatever the weather.

Opened in 2021, the Discovery Den is our purpose-built outdoor classroom—crafted from two clad shipping containers with a sheltered deck, just a stone’s throw from the Visitor Centre.

Designed for schools, families and community groups, it’s a flexible, weatherproof space for nature-based learning and activities like bug hunts, pond dipping, and fieldwork. It’s also a great base for promoting wellbeing through time spent outdoors.

Funded by BCP Council, Dorset LEP, and Kingston Maurward College, the Den helps young people connect with nature and inspires care for local green spaces—from gardens to school fields.
