Join Our Volunteer Team at Hengistbury Head

The dedicated staff team at Hengistbury Head is small, and to achieve all we aspire to on this beautiful and unique site, we rely on the invaluable support of our volunteers.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. Some are students seeking hands-on experience as they begin their training or careers, while others bring a wealth of knowledge from backgrounds such as the Armed Forces, local government, education, business, and the charity sector. Together, they form the backbone of our volunteer team.

Each person fits their time with us around their work and home commitments. What unites them all is a shared passion for Hengistbury Head and a desire to help protect and share this special place with the public.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Joining our friendly team starts with a simple chat.

Let’s Start with a Conversation

Whether you're interested in working alongside our ranger team, helping in the garden, supporting the Visitor Centre shop, or contributing to interpretation work, it all begins with a conversation.

Feel free to drop into the Visitor Centre for a chat with our current volunteers to get a feel for what’s involved. You can also speak with Richard Hesketh, who leads our Volunteer Programme. Call or email us for more information.
