Promise and Digitabulism
It is a time of promise in the garden. Burgeoning buds and bulbs are as enjoyable as the flowers. In some ways the promise is more delightful. Just being in the moment in the garden is a joy, especially as it’s not raining. Soon it will be March, known to gardeners as early spring; Hoorah.
Sue S has two hobbies. Let her tell you about them.
I have two hobbies; I am a Gardener and a Digitabulist.
As it is too wet and cold to be in the garden at present, I have been 'sorting out' some of my thimbles. Since Roman times, through so many centuries, every woman had a thimble, from the poorest to the Queen; from brass to gold.
Looking at some of mine, I realised how many 'Ladies' loved to have a 'flower' on their finger while they stitched. Flowers and leaves, in so many styles, through all the seasons.
For Spring; Forget-Me-Nots, Daffodils, Tulips, & Lily of The Valley. All are tiny works of art across the last century.
