Save Our Oceans and Swim Wild & Free

29th March to 28th April

An exhibition by Lydia Evans, with gifts, art prints and cards.

In our upstairs gallery in the Visitor Centre. The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 4pm.

 

Spring Events

Guided Nature Walks and Events

All walks/events start from the Visitor Centre. Booking is essential  -  please phone the Visitor Centre on 01202 128444.

 

Friday 15th March, 10.30am to 12.30pm

Signs of Spring

As winter comes to an end we will be looking for signs of spring  -  bird song, flowers, butterflies and more. Meet at the visitor centre. £6.50 per person including a hot drink and a biscuit. 

 

Saturday 23rd March, 11am

Make a Spring Rag Wreath

Make a spring rag wreath to hang from a door. All materials and tuition provided, as well as a hot drink and a biscuit. £12 per person. Booking essential as spaces limited.

 

Thursday 18th April, 10.30am to 1pm

Bird Song for Beginners

Join us for a gentle stroll to hear and learn some of the bird songs of Spring. There will be tips and advice along the way on how to learn the songs. Followed by refreshements at the Visitor Centre. £6.50 per person.

 

Sunday 5th May, 5.30am to 9.30am

Birds and Breakfast

Our annual May bird walk, when we listen to spring bird song at its best, from resident birds and summer migrants from Africa. Followed by breakfast at Hiker Cafe. £6 per person for the walk and £9.50 per person for a cooked breakfast and hot drink (optional).

 

Thursday 23rd May, 10.30am to 1pm

Spring Poetry

A walk on Wick Fields looking for spring flora and fauna, and hearing lots of spring nature poetry along the way. Feel free to bring along your favourite spring poems to be read out. £6.50 per person, including refreshments.

   

Performing The Past

Take a look at our full 'Performing the Past' events programme, where you can take part in events, guided walks and activities showing Hengistbury Head as a scene of settlement and ceremony for more than twelve thousand years.

Monday Morning Meanders  -  February to May '24

All walks will start at 10am and last up to 2 hours. These events are free with no need to book. Please note that these are not Council-led walks.
